Announcement!
I am very excited to announce that my brother has shown interest in contributing to this rarely updated blog! Huzzah! I am quite excited to see what our sibling powers can conjure up in this thing.
In gaming-news, I did in fact defeat God of War II, to my infinite delight. My friend Stefanie’s husband has one of those special fix-it-up machines that, after a few run-throughs, came out spankin’ new. To be honest I was quite surprised at how anti-climactic the end of the game was.
I was extremely impressed, however, with the battle against Lakhesis and Atropos. It’s probably one of the best edge-of-your-seat-sweaty-palms-scream-at-the-tv gaming fights I’ve had in quite a while. I will admit too that the endurance run right before Clotho had me angry for the longest time (I failed on multiple occasions and, in frustration, let it go for about a week only to try it again and, off the bat, make it through pretty healthy) but once I got to the big bitch herself I beat her so fast that I was just kind of like “Is that it…?”
Zeus wasn’t nearly as hard as I assumed either. The sword was a pain in the ass and the whole time I was just wanting my Blades of Athena back as I had to lug it around. The funniest part came to me just before I defeated Zeus because I couldn’t stop laughing at the overbearing daddy issues that seemed to be pressing through. And lo an behold! No wonder Kratos has so many problems. All he ever wanted was a daddy that loved him his all.
I also now have a fully-functional N64 controller thanks to my friend Alyssa, and that in all it’s pretty gold-glory got me further through Ocarina of Time, though I am too stubborn to make it any further than The Water Temple at the moment. I also repurchased Pokemon Snap though have only played it for spurts at a time. I really would like to get my hands on Paper Mario but at the resale shop I was at it was going for some $23.00.
At Goodwill I found Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver ($5.99 before discount) and Rugrats: Search for Reptar ($.99) for nostalgia’s sake, but both are unfortunately too scratched for my olde PS2 to do anything with. These I will be giving to Stef as well in the hopes that they aren’t beyond repair, but I keep forgetting to bring them to class with me. D’oh.
As for my quest to get an Xbox 360 I think I most definitely will be requesting one for Christmas after seeing that Left 4 Dead 2 will be coming out in November. I saw the poster going into a Gamestop and paused in longing.
I think this will be all for today. There will be some slight alterations as the brother brings himself into this lovely little place so who knows where things will go from here.
