Zoombinis Logical Journey
Does anyone else remember bullying their parents into buying this game for them?
I don’t know how this CD managed to survive throughout the years but it did. A couple of weeks ago, when I had the flu, I decided to give it a go. It was weird seeing a friend of mine had just mentioned the game not long before I found it stashed in one of my CD spindles.
After about an hour and a half of struggling to get it to work (it asked me for Quicktime V.2.0 over and over again and almost refused to install) I got started, yet again reliving moments of my childhood and remembering the levels with a strange distinction.
Personally, I always liked the guys with the spring for feet.
These screen-caps stirring up any childhood feelings of nostalgia in anyone else yet? (And I apologize for the quality, they’re from another website since I am far too tired/lazy/impatient to make a bunch of screencaps myself.)
“Whatever you are, make me a pizza!”
^ I still even remember which levels I hated as a kid! I remember this one being hard (which it still kind of is in the sense that sometimes it’s literally impossible to save all of your zoombinis) and the one with the crystal that reflects being a particular pain in the nuts (even when I was a kid, it just took so long to do that level!)
I somehow managed to play it for about an hour and a half, saving approximately 50 zoombinis in the process. With the repetitiveness I can’t imagine how it managed to keep our child minds entertained for hours and hours and days on end. At the same time it is quite astounding that it managed to keep me as entertained as long as it did.
Playing this really made me want to replay all the computer games I played as a kid. Anyone up for some Mr. Potato Head Saves Veggie Valley?
