Welcome to the Fight Palace
Max here.
Well, sheesh, I had no idea so many sensitive gamers frequented Gravity Beetle. I’d like to take just one more moment to pretty much reiterate what Sammi said in the comments of my last post: This blog is a fun thing for us, not some soapbox we use to instigate others. We’re old, agitated classic gamers and we need some catharsis, here, whether it’s through elaboration...

Distraction Techniques 101
Of course, when I am suppose to be doing homework I post about a hundred times here.
But in the process I stumbled upon Dino Run. Stupid fun, but I was genuinely very concerned for my dino’s health. (His name was Ringo. Two levels in and he went extinct. Hopefully next time I can keep him alive longer.)
If anyone ever wants to try multiplayer let me know, I’m curious to try.

These accumulated on my jump drive. Everyone’s probably already seen them but I feel posting them here is appropriate.

Finals Week, Pokemon Snap Style
Finals week! Which, of course, means the work load is copious and annoying, and I am both attempting to get everything done and accomplishing very little.
I’ve been playing a lot of Pokemon Snap lately.
Crap quality is crap. I’m only kinda sorry.

HG101: The Real Gamer's Gaming Bible
Hey, ladies and gents, Max here. Blasts From the Pasts will see another update sometime over the weekend. For now I’d like to direct the clueless to one of the greatest gaming web sites of all time: Hardcore Gaming 101.
http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/indexr.html
HG101 is, to put it very briefly, an expansive backlog of articles dedicated to all the games any real gamer should be giving...

I came across this through StumbleUpon. That’s some hardcore craftsmanship right there.

Blasts From the Pasts I
All right, gents and dames, my first foray in the vicious, nostalgic amphitheater that is Gravity Beetle. There are enough bloggers out there to teeter on the bleeding edge of gaming culture and spit out pithy remarks, and thus, I will spare you one more. It’s here I’d like to bring attention to the games that weren’t under the radar, they were somewhere else entirely.
The...

Announcement!
I am very excited to announce that my brother has shown interest in contributing to this rarely updated blog! Huzzah! I am quite excited to see what our sibling powers can conjure up in this thing.
In gaming-news, I did in fact defeat God of War II, to my infinite delight. My friend Stefanie’s husband has one of those special fix-it-up machines that, after a few run-throughs, came out...

*gasp* An update!
Two hours before I should be getting ready for an exciting day at work (senior citizen day, oh joy ) and I realized that I had a lot more to say in this journal than I have been doing as of late. Not that there hasn’t been an abundance of video game playage (without cable I have little else to entertain myself) but a lack of internet has played some part in it. As we speak in order to leech a...

SPARTAAAAAAAA
So playing of Oddworld and GEX got a little put off. Not that I didn’t make a valiant attempt so far (Jacob and I sucked so bad but the two player mode on Oddworld is hilarious) after seeing the G4 demo preview of God of War III I made the executive decision that, for my (now recently passed) birthday that a new series should be started. Lately I’ve been wanting more long-time-play...

Dry Times
I haven’t played much of anything now that I got my new netbook.
But I just bought Oddworld: Abe’s Oddyssey and GEX ($2.99 each at Goodwill + employee discount).
Good times will be had.

Zoombinis Logical Journey
Does anyone else remember bullying their parents into buying this game for them?
I don’t know how this CD managed to survive throughout the years but it did. A couple of weeks ago, when I had the flu, I decided to give it a go. It was weird seeing a friend of mine had just mentioned the game not long before I found it stashed in one of my CD spindles.
After about an hour and a half of...

Thoughts on Beautiful Katamari
Oh, journal, I have neglected you so! Then again in a way I’ve also neglected video games for some time now (mostly from constantly forgetting to recharge batteries for the GP2X). This is not to say that no fun has been had (I have recently gotten to play some Portal which, upon finishing or further devotion, will no doubt get a post of it’s own) and a variety of other things I...

Crash: Mind Over Mutant?
Gentle reader…
I need a few explanations as to just what the hell this is.
As I was compiling my previous lists of completed games I somehow came across Crash: Mind Over Mutant. Why do I feel like so many of my childhood games are being brutally raped?
As if these weird seventh generation Sonic games weren’t bad enough.
Now I will digress; I know one should never bash something...
